The Key Account Manager will execute marketing and sales initiatives to introduce the companies test portfolio in the field of oncology/ gynecology, urology and dermatology. As such, responsibilities will include key account planning and attendance at key conferences to create awareness with target audiences and liaising with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).The candidate should be comfortable with rapid change and bring a flexible attitude.

The primary objective will be to establish a significant footprint in the territory (mainly German and French part of Switzerland). The Key Account Manager will plan and execute its sales activities to provide successful sales results and to compete for new accounts and gain market share by developing strategic partnerships and establishing relationships with the appropriate accounts. In addition he/she acts as the advocate for the customers needs, interests and shows a personal long-term commitment for his/her customers.

Key Tasks

  • Demonstrate an understanding of each account/center within the territory in terms of its current situation, potential and timeframe.
  • Prospect for new business opportunities in the assigned territory whilst using product knowledge to gain a competitive advantage
  • Develop a strong understanding and using of the sales tools from opportunity management to strategic account management.
  • Achieve business targets including order intake, opportunity pipeline, account penetration, customer relationship management and profitability. Delivery of effective and professional communication and presentation is a vital component
  • Perform defined projects with key centers (e.g. intl. symposia, educational sessions, local and regional congresses)
  • Monitor and analyze market constantly in terms of business potential and competitor activities

Qualifications

  • University degree in Life Sciences (biology, medicine, pharmacy, biochemistry, chemistry etc.) or equivalent education. Experience in molecular diagnostics is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of the swiss healthcare system and pharmaceutical market
  • Experience in sales/business Development and/or marketing with emphasis on strategic account management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationship with people
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and planning capabilities. Strong customer focus
  • Strong team player with a positive and flexible mind-set, able to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to motivate, inspire and collaborate within a team. Enthusiasm for the job, willingness to travel (up to 50 / combination of office and home-based job)
  • Languages fluent in German, English and preferably French
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
